Hawaii Tourism Officials Look To Avoid Crisis
Wednesday, July 30th, 2008HONOLULU — New state figures show visitor arrivals dropped more than 14 percent in June compared to this time last year, and those in the industry said the backbone of Hawaii’s economy could reach a crisis if more is not done.
Industry leaders heard the bad news at a board meeting by the Hawaii Tourism Authority on Tuesday.
The outlook for Hawaii tourism is gloomy and even frightening for many in the visitor industry.
